Maybelline recently launched their Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer ($6.99), a primer touted to instantly blur pores upon application.

I hate my pores, so I picked up a tube to test it out. Upon first application, I noticed it has a smooth, cooling effect; the consistency is very similar to Benefit’s The Pore-Fessional. It’s clear, so it can be worn alone or under makeup, and while I didn’t notice a huge blurring effect on my pores, it did blur them some, and I can say that as a general face primer, it is awesome! My foundation fades fairly quickly when I don’t wear primer and this one made it last a good 5-7 hours with no touch-ups.

The key with this (and most primers, actually) is to let it sit for a few minutes before you apply your foundation/tinted moisturizer. This allows it to build a nice, thin barrier so that your base has something to adhere to. While skin isn’t dry, it does help your foundation have a semi-matte finish, which is what I love. Plus you can’t beat the price. I’m keeping this in my everyday makeup bag!
