It’s nice to have friends that will play dress up with you + let you paint their faces. We’d previously talked about doing a few beauty shoots together (gotta sharpen my skills!), so when Brandi told me about a hairstyle that she wanted to try, I knew I wanted to go for a retro preppy beauty look with defined eyes, soft purple on her lips + a kiss of color on her cheeks to play up the hair. I love her natural tresses.

We still had some beautiful light to work with, so we went for one more look: smoky green eyes + corally lips. Look 2 (same as above, with the blush + contour intensified). Change:

We shot these in her backyard-she has a beautiful wall of greenery, so we took full advantage of it. I really like how these turned out, and I can’t wait to do more. Retro inspired can be done in so many ways so we shall see!
