After random morning thunderstorms caused me to have to reschedule 2 of my photo sessions (gotta love being at the mercy of the elements), I had one of the most chill Saturdays I’ve had in a loooong time. My weekends off from work rotate, and I’m typically always on the go, but instead of trying to cram a ton of events in, I decided to just go with the flow. After I stopped by a small festival at the park to walk around + grab some food, I met up with my friend Ari (That’s So Chic) for what turned into a day of thrifting, store hopping, a little food, and good old-fashioned girl talk.
We first went to Cleveland Street Flea Market (where I snapped the feature image), and I found a cool little architectural ceramic vase for only $5.
We went to a few other places that day (I found a floral kimono and picked up some beauty products + tools) and grabbed an early dinner, and it was just cool to hang out with no set plans. We’ve known each other for years, and we share so many common interests when it comes to decor, style, and even blogging, so I was happy just to gab, and gab, and gab about any and everything, lol. While we were out I briefly scrolled through social media and posted that photo (because how dope is that bike), but it felt good to be off and not be in front of my computer. I spend so much of my free time working on my blog or editing pictures, but sometimes I need a simple Saturday to recharge. Social Media becomes a huge part of your life when you blog, but I’m making a conscious effort to pull back a bit so that I can go back to doing some of the other things I enjoy (like on my Summer fun to-do list) and not spend so much time glued to a screen.
When I set out that morning my goal was to be home around 6p or 7p. Well, I didn’t make it home til after 11p! Safe to say I had fun, no? 🙂
How did you spend your Saturday?
