Saturdays are the perfect time to explore what’s new in the city. Broad Avenue has been expanding by leaps + bounds, so I made a stop at City & State Coffee Shop and then ventured over to Falling Into Place, a new home & lifestyle boutique (2613 Broad Avenue).
Celebrating their soft opening (there will be an official grand opening in a few weeks), I was kinda blown away from the transformation that had taken place since I last popped in during April’s Art Walk (I mentioned it here).
Working with her husband (a carpenter who built some of the shelving and furniture) and interior designer Natalie Lieberman of Collect + Curate, owner Mary Claire White (I wrote about her candles here) has created a beautifully curated boutique of home goods, textiles, and ceramics that fits in perfectly with the industrial yet slightly bohemian aesthetic of Broad Avenue’s Art District.
Don’t you want to buy it all??? The space is light and airy, and there’s just so much goodness to take in. The store smells delicious when you walk in (exactly what you want your home to smell like), so I picked up one of her candles for the road (Mandarin Sunrise, $20). The little quotes that they’re printing on the candles are so neat!
The finish on the wall is gorgeous (it’s original, they didn’t change it), and I need to find the smaller plant holders/vases that they used to help mix in greenery around the store. They’d be perfect for home!
Falling Into Place carries artwork + goods from artists like Maggie Russell and Hillary Butler, but she’s also carrying textiles, bags, and jewelry from brands like Erica Weiner, The Land of Salt, Nena & Co, Live + Work, Culinarium and more that are harder to find in Memphis.
