Last night we officially kicked things off for Memphis Fashion Week at the Fashion Night Out Party on the Highland Strip. The weather was GORGEOUS (hello 70s with a breeze!) and as expected, so much city style was on display!
Benefiting the Memphis Fashion Fund + EMDP, the packed event set the tone for what’s to come over the next few days. We sipped, shopped, noshed and mingled while getting a preview of some of the designs that will be on on the Runway during Saturday’s Show. As always, I was focused on capturing looks, because nights like these are when people really step it up and let their personal style shine through. Rachel Roy is tonight’s Headlining Designer so obviously we saw a few of her pieces, BUT, that doesn’t mean that it will be worn the same way by everyone (the beauty of fashion!). My biggest takeaway from the night was that it was aaaaall about the details. Fashion forward handbags, earrings, and other accessories made the look.
Here’s a peek at some City Style:
I love how Augusta accessorized her Rachel Roy floral suit with power pieces from local jewelry line Brave Design. Lucia added a pop of color with her heels and totally elevated her floral midi dress.
Notice the details: Jen’s tiered chain belt (festival ready!) and the swarovski crystal tights under ripped denim was an edgy touch to Shaka’s monochromatic look.
Katie‘s palm print ensemble screams resort style and has me ready for a vacation.
Blogger babes Bianca + Faith rocking some Rachel Roy!
Forever here for Kayla‘s white booties, stripes and denim.
Obsessed with Lauren‘s jacket. She owns 2 little frenchies so this “homage” to them was totes adorable.
Moto jackets and floral clutches are always a good look.
Q coming through with the fucshia trousers and trench vest.
Long sleeve floral print dresses are one of my favorite pieces to wear. This color combo is everything!
Andrea in a gorgeous bell sleeve Rachel Roy Dress + Style Junkie Shoes.
That shock of color via her heels completely elevated Aparna‘s jumpsuit look.
Statement bags FTW!
These bright, punchy colors? I can’t even. I must copy Ali and add some chartreuse to my closet!
I’m so happy that this Rachel Roy floral bomber worked out. I got sooo many complements on it last night.
Jumpsuits will always be a great choice when going to fashion events like this. You instantly look chic and can accessorize them so many ways.
Channing + Kim rocking 2 ends of the style spectrum and I am here for it.
Ben’s laid back aesthetic totally encompasses his brand’s vibe (Bozwell + Lily).
Men in patterns are my jam and Matt’s floral blazer is a so on trend right now.
Classic black and white will never go out of style. The fit (relaxed suiting) and details (flared legs, statement jewelry) will keep it from being boring.
There was so much that I DIDN’T capture because it was so packed, but the fun continues on tonight at Day 1 of the Runway Shows. Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see what’s happening in real time; click here to grab a ticket before they’re completely sold out!
