10 Best Bordeaux Lipsticks for Fall
Even before our makeup bags went into Fall Beauty mode, I noticed tons and tons of women obsessing over Bordeaux lipcolors. The dark, rich wine and berry tones come in so many formulas now and can be flattering on a multitude of skin-tones. The wearer just has to figure out if they want it to have a matte, creamy, tint, or a lipgloss finish.
Here’s a quick roundup of some that I’ve seen to be popular (and a few of my personal faves):

Bobbi Brown Lipcolor in Blackberry ($26)
A creamy, semi-matte wine colored lipstick that can be worn alone or with a darker liner for a slight ombre effect. When new to wearing dark shades, a creamier formula may be easier-just do a quick swipe and build from there.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry ($7.99)
This is a classic. It’s a dark, creamy formula that will leave a slight stain, but you don’t necessarily have to pair it with a lipliner.

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey ($16)
For the girl that wants to try out the look but with baby steps, Black Honey gives lips a nice wash of color without giving you strait up Vamp. It’s heavier than a gloss and buildable, so you can step into the trend with easy.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania + Copenhagen ($5.99 each)
These go on creamy but dry suuuper matte, so make sure your lips are exfoliated and “primed” with a little lip balm. I personally like the weird matteness alone, but some top with a gloss bc their lips feel dehydrated. Copenhagen is slightly warmer of the two, so it won’t hurt to own both.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu ($25)
This color is quickly building a cult following. Very pigmented with a velvety smooth matte finish, this long-lasting jumbo pencil can be worn alone or serve as a base for another color to make it more long-lasting.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) Lip Tar in Black Dahlia ($18)
Extremely concentrated, OCC’s Lip Tar is for the girl that is not afraid to go really, really, dark. A little bit goes a long way, and once it’s on it stays put, so use a good lip brush for precise application.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Vampira ($19)
Another long-lasting formula, Kat Von D’s everlasting liquid lipstick goes on as a gloss but dries to a matte finish. It has vitamin A, C, and E for added hydration, but pack a balm in your makeup bag just in case.

Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Color in Cherry Bomb ($1.99)
Wet n Wild makes some of the best matte lipsticks on the market. Period. They are richly pigmented, don’t travel (so liner is optional), and they last a minimum of 4 hours. There’s a reason that this shade sells out so quickly-it’s extremely affordable and flattering on many skintones, and although it’s matte, it doesn’t dry out your lips. Holy Grail status.

M.A.C. Cosmetics Heirloom Mix Lipstick in Tribalist ($17.50)
Part of their limited edition Holiday Collection, this is a pretty purple berry in a satin finish Because it’s a creamy formula, you may want to add a liner to make it last a little longer.
There are TONS more formulas try, but I wanted to do a roundup of products that were both popular and accessible, and include some that you’ll actually be able to find. All of these gorgeous tones will look really pretty with a little bronzer + lots of lashes, but you can be more daring and pair with a gold or forest green metallic eyeshadow and/or winged liner as well.
Have you tried any of the formulas listed above? Are you into the vampy lip trend at all? What’s your personal favorite?
