Anyone that knows me knows that I love:
Fashion Magazines
Make Up
Music
Writing
Movies, books, and food are up there as well but those 4 things in some way, shape, or form are part of my daily routine. About 2 years ago while working at a humdrum job, I realized that as cliche as it sounds, fashion really is my passion. I’ve always loved learning the latest tips techniques when it comes to incorporating trends into your wardrobe. There are so many possibilities when it comes to style: there are the go-to categories that all fashionistas adhere to (are you Glam? Preppy? Bohemian?) but in the end, your day to day look is determined by how you feel and what YOU like. And that’s what this blog is about.
See, I believe in dressing for yourself. Now I’m not saying that you should ignore society completely (a little decency please) but the pieces that you wear should be for you. I believe in learning and trying trends, but not being a slave to them. Regardless of what outfit you wear, you should still look like yourself. One of the things that I hope to accomplish in the upcoming years is building a company that specializes not so much in making you look like the next Kim Kardashian or Sienna Miller, but one that helps you figure out what works best for you, your body type, your lifestyle.
Inspiration comes from everywhere, and what I hope to do on this blog is to post tips, techniques, and looks that inspire you to try something new, be it adding a new lipcolor or handbag to your collection or shopping your own closet and re-working the pieces that you already own. As much as I’d love to shop Fendi, Gucci, and Alexander Wang, I currently have a Target, Marshall’s, and Banana Republic budget lol! But every real fashionista knows, its not about the price: there are so many alternatives out there to luxury items that regardless of your budget, you should be able to pull off the looks that you want. The looks that I post will have a broad price point so that there’s something for everyone!
I’m a lover of fashion, of beauty, of music, of writing, of entertainment. This will be my place to express what I like, while also documenting the moves I make as I finally go down a path I’ve sketched for myself (instead of doing what others thought was best). At this point I’m a Jill of All Trades (MUA, Stylist, Photographer,, Project Manager, Blogger; you name it I probably do it, lol) but I swear I wouldn’t change it for the world. Tapping into my creative side for the past few months has been so much fun, and I’m slowly but surely reaping rewards. They always say do what you love and it’ll never feel like work.
This is my journey. Join me!
