Shopping at SFV’s Pop-Up Shop | KP FUSION
A few weeks ago, Strange Fruit Vintage (an online boutique that specializes in 80s and 90s vintage urban apparel and accessories) held a one day pop-up shop. 100+ items were available for purchase, all for $20 and under. I haven’t done a lot of thrifting (but I plan to this spring and summer so stay tuned!), but some of my friends do and they always find super cool vintage stuff. At her last pop-up shop I scored some sweet earrings and an oversized clutch so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed! With the pop-up shops, owner Shalishah “Petey” Franklin has made it her mission to offer an experience to her customers: she scours the country for some of the best 80s and 90s fashion so you’ll always have cool pieces to choose from, and with her also being a lover of hiphop, there’s usually a DJ on hand for you to rock to while you shop. I decided to take my camera out with me to snap some pics while I shopped. Fancy Footwear. She also had some Stuart Weitzman’s but someone snatched them before I could get a pic 🙁 Peep the DJ in the corner on the 1s and 2s (Eri-Eri!) Pretty Baubles. I love the faces but I wasn’t sure how well they’d work with my wardrobe. But I DID get the pink & black ones on the 2nd row. They were a great accent to the jeans and a black & white graphic shirt & flats I wore the next day. Cute Sweater Dress I wanted this dress but it wasn’t in my size. It would go great with tights and slouchy suede boots on days when it’s cool, but warm enough to go without a coat. Fly jumpsuit This picture does not do this look any justice. Jessie looked uber fab! She also tried on an electric blue jumpsuit (here’s a pic of her in it on SFV’s blog (I’m in the pic too. Shhh…)) that she decided to purchase over this but both looks were hot! In addition to the earrings, I also bought a navy blue strap purse/satchel, which will be perfect for when I go out walking or to concerts and I just want to carry the essentials. Be sure to check out Strange Fruit Vintage’s website-this sale was to make way for new inventory! To shop, click here. Friend them on Facebook here.
