There are very few celebrity clothing lines that I actually like. Many times, it’s overpriced t-shirts and dresses that aren’t fashionable at ALL, so for the most part, I shrug whenever I hear that a new collection has come out. Paper Crown (a contemporary line designed by The Hill’s Lauren Conrad) is an exception. The collection is comprised of maxi dresses, cocktail attire, and menswear inspired pieces that are right on trend with the season’s look. I love the muted palette-while many designers are doing bold colors and tribal prints for fall, Paper Crown’s aesthetic is more relaxed and toned down (which makes sense because Conrad is the quintessential California Girl).
Here are a few pics from their Fall 2011 Lookbook:

Conrad has been designing for a few years, and if you’ve followed her career, you can definitely see growth in her work. (Side note: I hope she finds a home for the show she filmed for MTV (that was deemed “too high brow”.) Conrad was the star of Hills-she was relatable, and while we know reality TV isn’t 100% real, she actually pursued her dream career of design. Watching her on her journey (without all the “drama, drama, drama”), in my opinion, would be interesting to those looking for insight into the industry. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
