[…] I mentioned here, I’m forever working on obtaining perfect brows, so I’m always looking for products […]
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with brows. They’re the first thing I notice on women. I’ve always believed that great brows count for at least 50% of your look. If your brows are perfect, you’ve won half the (beauty) battle. As a result, I’ve been slightly obsessive with keeping mine groomed (and with trying to decide which celebrity has the best in the business).
A few of my “brow-spirations”:
As we’ve seen on the runway and in magazines for the past few seasons, fuller brows have made a comeback so I’m currently in the process of completely growing them out.
My brows are relatively thick now but I’ve always wanted ones that were really full with a slight arch. They look pretty good if I do say so myself.
But that’s not say I haven’t had bad brow moments. Funny (and equally embarrassing) story: I accidentally shaved half of one of my eyebrows off in the 8th grade. I accidentally slammed my writing hand in a car door one day and had to get stitches in my thumb. I needed to clean up my brows but didn’t want to wait so I grabbed a razor (I wasn’t savvy with tweezers yet) and went to town. I am NOT ambidextrous and had a slip of the wrist…so….yea, lol. I was able to hide it with a brow pencil so I thought I was good…until my best friends party a few days later. After slow dancing with the cu-u-u-te boy I’d been crushing on, I raised my head from his chest only to find that my brow had smudged ON HIS WHITE SHIRT. Thank God he didn’t notice but after that day, I put the razor DOWN!
Anyhoo, I’ve been using a Rimmel brow pencil for years to help me out but sometimes pencils smudge or go on too dark (I want natural, not theatrical). Recently I found a brow kit that does exactly what I want, and it’s inexpensive!
NYC New York Color Browser Brush-On Brow Kit ($4) has been giving me life! Super easy to use (dip the brush in the grooming wax then in the powder. Use light, short strokes to fill in brows), the results are really natural and I don’t have to worry about my brows for the rest of the day. The kit also comes with tweezers so you can clean up the stray hairs if needed. This kit is great for someone who wants a little help in thickening up their brows but wants to keep the look natural. No one can tell I use it-but I do get compliments on my brows. 🙂
Have you ever tried a brow grooming kit? Any recommendations? Do you just stick with a pencil, or where you blessed with the perfect pair? Comment below!

I think Arlenis Sosa has perfect eyebrows.
I like to get them waxed and just keep up the upkeep, myself. Of course, the problem with that is a lot of aestheticians will just start waxing without asking anything. I’ve never liked myself with skinny eyebrows…
Still searching for the perfect eyebrow archer. :p
