As a fan of A Tribe Called Quest and hip-hop in general, I hate that I missed the documentary when it was showing at Ridgeway 4 cinema this summer. During its productions and festival rounds, I’d heard about Q-Tip taking issue with some of the footage, so I was curious to see if the final product would be a romanticized review of their work and influence (they were perfect! they did no wrong) or would it be raw and truthful, showing the many sides of hip-hop (and why we love it).
Guess I’ll find out tomorrow night! Have you seen it? Will you be attending the show tomorrow?
