Last month I went to The Awkward Pop Up Shop V.II, a new local event that merges fashion and shopping, art, and music under one roof. Held at Power House Memphis, they had a great turnout-I saw a lot of people that I know that are working to grow our fashion community here (the guy over the event, Clarence Simpson, is actually a student at The University of Memphis). Thrifting and wearing vintage has become big business as of late, so they held a “modern vintage” fashion show to highlight looks that you create with some of your finds. I made sure to have my camera because I wanted to document what I saw, but I also was interested in the street style that I knew I would see. Many didn’t disappoint; check out some of the photos below.
