This season is ALL about bright colors on the eyes, lips, and tips (nails that is) but if you’re like me, you want to test certain trends out before going for a higher end product to make sure that it works on you. A few weeks ago, my friend and makeup artist Diti Devi recommended trying NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Orange ($6.75) on her Facebook Page as a dupe for M.A.C.’s “Optimistic Orange”, and because I have a hard time finding bright powder blush that shows up on my skin without looking clownish, I decided to give it a shot.
LOVED IT!
The orange cream is intense when you dab your fingers into it and first apply but it blends really sheer so that you have a nice wash of color on your cheeks. It’s made with minerals so it’s really smooth, not sticky like some cream blushes can be, and long-lasting. If red or pink toned blush is too much for your complexion, an orange hue will warm you up. This is a good product for women of color. If orange isn’t for you, there are 11 other shades to experiment with.
TIP:
Always, always, always moisturize before applying makeup, and try to apply in natural light so that you can get a true sense of the color on your cheeks. As with all blush, too much is NOT flattering, so have a light hand with application and build. You can also apply this with a wet/dry brush if you want more control. Balance the look with stronger brows, tons of black mascara on top & bottom lashes, and a golden based gloss on lips for a polished yet on trend look.

I will most definitely be checking this out. I’m been on the hunt for peaches and coral blushes for the longest. This color looks great.

if my assessment is correct, it will look fab on your skin. Again. its SUPER bright (like a melon lipstick) on you when you first put it on so blend, blend blend!
