Product Review | Hydroxatone Intensive Youth Serum & Luminique Skin Brightener | KP FUSION
The wonderful people over at Hydroxatone sent me some more goodies to try and I wanted to share my finds with you guys. I had great results with their other products (read my reviews here) so I was thrilled to try something new. I’m all about preventative care now that I’m no longer in my 20s, but at the same time, I don’t want to go the surgical route and tamper with my face because I’m chasing my youth (I’m looking at you, Kim K). Anyhoo, I received their Intensive Youth Serum (retails: $89.95) and Luminique Facial Brightener (retails: $49. 95). Typically you can begin to see results in 30 days however I used the product for 60 for a more thorough review. Hydroxatone Intensive Youth Serum (1.oz) What it does: helps reverse the signs of aging (wrinkles and fine lines, and new and existing sun damage) Key Ingredients: The Hydrosome Complex (fights the appearance of photoaging), Matrixyl3000 (promotes natural levels of Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, and Fibronectin) My Thoughts: I applied this serum twice a day after cleanings and toning my skin, sometimes mixing it with a moisturizer for added benefits. It’s potent, so you only need two pumps max to cover your entire face. My skin felt soft and refreshed after applying, and even on days when I didn’t add a moisturizer (bad, I know), the serum was enough to keep it hydrated. It absorbs quickly, so you only have to wait a minute or two before you can apply primer/foundation. There was no wrinkle or line reduction as I’m in the preventative stage, but I will definitely continue to use this because of the way it makes my skin feel. Hydroxatone Luminique Facial Brightener (3oz.) What it does: brightens the appearance of dark spots and other skin discolorations Key Ingredients: Lumisphere (clinically proven to brighten skin) My Thoughts: As I did with the Intensive Youth Serum, I applied this twice a day after I cleansed and toned my skin (sometimes using in place of moisturizer). I’ve used skin brighteners before, however they were too harsh for my skin-usually within two days my skin would begin to redden and swell slightly, as if I was developing a rash and I’d stop using it soon after. With Luminique, I did NOT have that problem. I never experienced any irritation, and unlike most brighteners, it didn’t have a weird smell. My skin is is more even toned, and the majority of the spots I had have faded. Clearer skin means less foundation! While I won’t have perfect skin tomorrow, I can say that using Hydroxatone products the last few months have definitely been a factor in its improvement. They have some of the most hydrating products that I have ever used, and my skin drinks it up beautifully. It’s a quality product; you don’t have to use a ton in order to reap the benefits so they are definitely worth the price. This is a brand that I WILL continue to use once my samples are gone.
