Yall, I’ve been Whipped.
No, I don’t mean someone has lashed my skin with a leather belt, but I have been baptized in the creamy, luxurious lotions and potions from Lauren’s (@whippedproducts) handmade body, hair, facial & scalp butters and creme line, aptly called Whipped.
Mixed with a little bit of love using only organic and unrefined materials, in the words of Diddy, they “preserve your sexy and moisturize your situation”.
Let me go back a bit. Lauren is one of the most intelligent, blunt, witty, irreverent people that I’ve ever come across (we’ve been following each other on Twitter for a few years). She also happens to be insanely gorgeous and a literal know-it-all when it comes to homemade/organic treatments for skin, hair, nails, and general health.
She’s not some crazy health freak, but she knows quite a few natural alternatives that you can use in place of running to your local pharmacy. For years she was asked about treatments re: hair and skin (that glow you see in her pic? Yea, that’s not from foundation or a filter), so a few weeks ago she finally decided to launch Whipped and I couldn’t be happier. I ordered the 8 oz Body Butter ($14) and the 4 oz Scalp Therapy Creme ($12) and am in LOVE.
The main ingredient in the body butter line is shea butter, which we all know is a fantastic moisturizer, however the formula she uses (mixed with olive butter and coconut oil into a creamy souffle) leaves your skin, soft, supple, and almost silk-like, even hours after you’ve applied. The first day I used it I couldn’t stop rubbing my arms and I started making people do it too because I was shocked with how soft my skin felt (a little awkward but they needed to know!) without being greasy or feeling heavy. I have dry skin so I’m always testing out different lotions and oils but this by far exceeded my expectations. They even come in these super cute mason jars that have an African cloth covering. Unless she decides to stops making it, I will not go back to other moisturizers. I’ve been using it for a little over a week and those extra dry spots that we have to deal with (elbows, knees, and feet) are super soft as well!
I’ve even been using it on my FACE, which, because I have combination skin I typically wouldn’t do, but due to the the ingredients being all-natural (and I just use a tiny, tiny bit) my face is moisturized (no more dry patches) and because of the healing powers in coconut oil, my complexion is looking a little brighter as well. Sometimes natural really is best.
I haven’t used the Scalp Therapy Creme yet but will soon. Whipped also offers a sugar scrub, lip creme, and hair butter, and they’re also working on a cuticle cream as well. Because I like to change up my perfume, I ordered the unscented body butter, however there are yummy scents like vanilla bean, dragons blood, baby rose and honey mango that you can choose from.
Word to the wise: the line-up may change periodically and the batches sell out QUICK, and it’s best to use the products daily for optimum results, so order the larger size when you can!
