Real World Beauty with Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Collection | KP FUSION
This summer I received a delightful little package from Bobbi Brown Cosmetics filled with products from their Long-Wear Eye Collection. Long-Wear Eye Pencil in Mahogany, Jet, & Black Plum Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Black Violet, Cool Lilac, & Smoky Topaz Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara in Black I’d been reading about the collection for a while so I was giddy to try them out! My friend Candyce agreed to be my canvas so that I could test out the products and let me try 2 looks out on her: one for day, and one for night. Look One: For this look, I applied a primer, foundation & concealor, then used the Cool Lilac (irredescent purple) as the base. I added a toffee brown to the crease, then lined her eyes with the Black Plum Liner. We wanted a little more brow definition (but not too strong), so I used light, feathery strokes to apply the Mahogany Liner. Her brows were recently groomed so no need for a highlighter. I added 2 coats of Intensifying Mascara, a little bronzer, and a pinky-nude balm. Look 2: For this look, we wanted to amp it up just a bit. After primer, foundation & concealor, I used Smoky Topaz (gunmetal with gold flecks) as the base, then lined her entire eye with the Jet Eyeliner. I patted a black shadow on the lids, then took a smudge brush and smudge it out, extending it out a bit (we didn’t want the line too clean). I added a little bit of highlighter to the inner corner of her eyes to keep it from being too heavy. Her brows were still set, so we added mascara, a little bronzer and to be playful (and bc her eyes weren’t too intense), we went with a hot pink matte cream lip. Candyce is not a girl that wears a lot of makeup, plus we were smack dab in a heatwave, so we didn’t want to pile it on. Real Girl, Real World Beauty. If you’ve ever used any of Bobbi Brown’s products, then you know that they are fantastic. I loved this collection. On days when I’m in a rush but still want to look polished, I can easily apply the shadow, liner, and mascara, and not have to worry about touch-ups. My eyelid area gets oily after a while so I always try to wear a primer but even on days when one isn’t applied, they still last pretty long. Another great thing? You can use a brush if you want more precision but applying the shadows with your fingertips work just as well. Also, the Jet Liner is VERY intense. It’s creamy, so if I ever want to do a “rock ‘n’ roll” look, all I have to apply is the Smoky Topaz for the base on my lid, line my entire lid, then smudge it out. I’ve done it before and it just got “cooler” as the night went on. The Black Violet Cream Shadow will most likely be my go-to for Fall, and I plan on trying some of gel liners as well.
