2 weeks ago I styled a test shoot with KStar Photography, the photographer (and new friend!) I’ve been working with the last few months. It was with a new hairstylist, and the theme of the shoot was “Texture”. I didn’t go the full-on route of choosing major knits, leather, or rubber (if you’ve seen The September Issue, you know that reference); I did it in more subtle ways so that the focus would remain on the hair.

Look 2 was my absolute favorite from the shoot. It had a sort of Rockabilly vibe to it, which was totally unexpected. We had a blast during the shoot (as always) and I really love the images that we’ve created so far for my portfolio.
As for the clothes? I pulled from Macy’s, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, and TJ Maxx, and a few other places. If you’re getting into styling, definitely start looking around and building a wardrobe. It may not make sense when you first purchase them but you never know how they might come together. Be creative, and use what you can until you can REALLY get the items that you want!
