My friend Karah recently chopped off all of her hair and went a deeper shade of red; her look put me in the mind of a modern day Twiggy. She doesn’t wear a lot of makeup day to day (just your typical 5 minute face), but she came over so I could see the cut and let me play in makeup and do a look that she could wear when going out at night that wasn’t over the top. After applying primer, I layered a combination of shimmery & matte pinks, browns and bronzes on her eyes, concentrating most of the color on her lid. For brows, I applied a matte brown powder to give her a little definition. I used Rimmel London Scandaleyes Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black ($5.99) to line her entire eye, flicking a thin line out at the end. If you’re someone that doesn’t like liquid eyeliner but want that intensity, this is a great alternative. It comes with a built in brush so it’s perfect for those on the go. I then added 2 coats of black mascara (add lashes if you want to go more glam). For lips, I used NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Dolly Pink ($5.50), and used a peachy blush for a pinch of color.
