Last Saturday I attended the launch party for NV Cosmetics, a new cosmetics line from local MUA & Esthetician Ninja Walker. A full line (they offer brushes, foundations, concealers, shadows, lipsticks, etc.), the company will also be offering mobile beauty services such as waxing, brow grooming, skincare consultations and more.
As you guys should know, I’m a makeup junkie so of course I had to attend and play around.
I loved the eyeshadow color palettes, and the majority of the colors were very well pigmented; a few of the lighter colors weren’t but with a little bit of eye primer, you can make it work.
Though the foundation color selection wasn’t extensive, they were great quality; easily blendable, and for those that tested it, they loved the coverage and how their skin felt.
Dorcus Martin, a local stylist, tried the liquid foundation and it was a perfect match.
Visual Artist and uber talented creative Jade Miller live painted a piece for the silent auction that was held.
Some of the freelancers took time to test out colors on each other during breaks from the demos (who better to test on, right?)
Merenda Morris (fab MUA) tested out a few shadows and the most popular lip color of the night, a lavender/pinkish matte lipstick called “Stiletto”.
My sista from another mista KStar tried this super hot brick red lipgloss on. She usually doesn’t play with strong lipcolors but she loved this one and ordered it on the spot.
<3 this girl. Sidenote: I die over my top from Urban Outfitters. I copped it on sale a few months back and this was my first time wearing it. The sweetheart neckline is so cute and made this perfect to wear under a blazer!
I tested out a little bit of blush and “Stiletto” as well. For this to be a matte color, it had a bit of hydration to it (similar to a balm) so lips felt conditioned and soft. Love it!
I’m a huge fan of color blocking so….yea. Cobalt blue and mint green are great pops of color to add to your wardrobe for Spring!
Meosha Williams is an MUA for Bobbi Brown in Macy’s Oak Court. She is such a doll and too cute.
All in all, I was very impressed with NV Cosmetics. I talked with Ninja and she really took her time with research and developing her line; the collection retails along the line of M.A.C. and Too Faced, so it’s affordable. To shop the new Spring Collection, visit http://nvcosmetic.com/
