Created by Brooklyn-based designer Maggie Copeland, Palethorp is a semi-exotic skin handbag collection that highlights the designer’s cultural, style, and career influences.
Fusing both fashion and function, each piece is created using snakeskin and high quality leather; the designs are inspired by the materials, her travels, and her mother and grandmother (who introduced her to vintage fabrics at a young age). After learning how to sew and falling in love with the process, she subsequently pursued a degree in Fashion & Accessory Design at the Savannah College of Art & Design. After stints at L.A.M.B. and Foley & Corinna where she honed her craft, Copeland launched Palethorp in the Summer of 2012 to help fill the void between affordability and luxury snakeskin bags.
