You can have some of the most expensive, prestigious makeup in the world, but if you use crappy brushes, you may as well apply your makeup with a stick. Quality brushes don’t have to break the bank, and unless you are a professional MUA, you don’t need a 60 piece arsenal of brushes; your everyday basics will do.
A great brand to try is Sonia Kashuk® for Target. I first purchased a set of Kashuk’s brushes about 5 years ago on a whim, and I’ve never been disappointed. They’re sturdy, so they don’t break after washing, have minimum shedding, and pick up & distribute product very well.
This limited edition 5 piece set includes a powder brush, synthetic angled foundation brush, blending brush, eye shadow brush and a precision liner brush. Price? $16.99.
Depending on your needs, her sets can range from $14.99-$30.99. She does offer individual brushes, but if you’re unsure of what you need or are on a tight budget, one of her sets will work just fine.
Another good thing about brushes? If the quality is good, it has the ability to make super inexpensive makeup go the distance as well. Not everyone can afford a $30 brush, but even if you can, it’s good to know that you in the event you lose or break one, you can get a quality replacement in a flash.
