On November 16th, Hoot + Louise hosted Memphis Indie Holiday Market, a small expo for independent vendors. My friend Lauren Carlson with Question the Answer had a booth set up, and the store owner, Anna Avant is such a sweetheart, so I had to swing by to support and do a little early shopping:
She has some wooden “diamond” studs that I want (they were sold out!)
Muddy’s Bake Shop had some goodies on hand, plus information about catering. They have super yummy cupcakes, and I picked up some of their Peppermint Bark (it was BEYOND).
Amelia (Oxford, MS), a home good and homemade jewelry store had a some amazing stationary and decorative gifts on hand. This is only a snapshot of the items they offer.
The End of All Music is the ONLY independent record store in Oxford MS. They sell both vintage and new vinyl. I need a record player ASAP because I want to go back and get that The Clash album!
Paper + Clay had some nice ceramics on hand for those looking to update their collection.
And finally, Memphis Mean Time had some vintage time pieces on hand. They are a repair shop, but they also collect and sell pieces.
Finally, I had to share a picture of Anna for a little street style- her cat dress was SOOOOOO cute (it’s from her store, naturally).
Whenever you can, get out and shop local. There are so many cool + unique designers and stores out there, and in order for them to keep offering you their awesomeness, they need your support!
Oh! And guess what??? They held a raffle and guess who won?! This chick here! *happy dance* I got a lot of cool items, plus some gift certificates, so stay tuned…
