A few weeks ago I was invited to attend a special media dinner for Seasons 52, located at the Crescent Center (6085 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38120) prior to their grand opening.
A fresh grill + wine bar, they offer a seasonally diverse menu + an international wine selection; during the course of our dinner their Master Sommelier (Master of Wine) George Miliotes treated us to a little history behind each meal’s wine pairing as well.
I’ve never attended an “official” wine tasting before-they’ve been more of a sampling- so for me it was awesome to learn more about the wineries that they work with, the selection process, and why certain food pairings work so good together.
At the beginning of our visit we took a guided tour of the restaurant. The aesthetic is based on some of Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs, and has a slightly dark, warm + moody ambiance to it (mahogany walls with stone + glass accents). In addition to the main bar and dining areas, there are private rooms that can be used for meetings (there’s a built in AV System), and they also offer an Executive Chef experience, where you can design a menu for you and up to 12 guests with Executive Chef Partner Cassie Presley.
It’s absolutely beautiful on the inside, and I love the fact that they have an open kitchen. I’m one of those weirdos that’s always been fascinated by what goes on in there so be able to get even a glimpse of that action is a treat.
If you follow me on IG, you’ve seen some of these photos already and know how I feel but for those that don’t: the food is FANTASTIC. We sampled SO. MUCH. YUMMINESS that night, but these were my favorites:
To say that we indulged is an understatement. I was so happy and full when it was over BUT I didn’t feel bad in the slightest bit. Why? Nothing on the menu is over 475 calories!!! I know that that’s hard to believe, however, if you’re someone that eats “clean”, you know that it is still possible to prepare a delicious meal without all of the calories. You don’t have to sacrifice health for taste, so I was extremely impressed.
Another thing? Pricing is very affordable. So much so that I was kinda shocked when I saw the full menu; I expected it to be way more expensive, so that is a plus. They have an additional kid-friendly menu, plus happy hour specials, so whether you’re meeting friends after work, going on a special date, or even just trying to grab a quick lunch, Seasons 52 is definitely a place to keep on your radar. I’m already making plans to go back!
