Disclaimer: I am NOT a makeup artist. However, I am slightly addicted to makeup and own a ton so I figured it’s high time I start using it up, and not just on the occasional photoshoot I have when an MUA isn’t available. So last night I decided to break out my Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Palette because I wanted to try a really soft purple + pink look; it has both bright and neutral colors so it’s a great basic to have in your collection. It’s not sold on their site anymore but you can easily find it on Ebay or some other site for as low as $8.99. If you want to make colors more intense, use NYX’s Jumbo Pencil in Milk ($4.49). It’s a great cream base and can make colors really pop! Face: I primed with Maybelline’s Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser ($6.99) Foundation: Revlon’s Color Stay 24 Hour Foundation ($10.99) Concealer: L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer ($2.99) Set with Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder ($4.99) Brows: Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit ($6.99) Eyes: I patted fishnet on the inner corner, ransom on the outer + crease, and blended with underground. I try to keep color concentrated on my lids bc of my eyeshape; to go any higher can be a bit much. I then used a liner brush and applied ransom all the way around, and topped it with Maybelline’s Volume Express The Falsies Big Eyes Mascara. ($6.99). On my cheeks I did a soft wash of Nars’ Outlaw blush, and applied NYX’s Pink Lyric Creamy Lipstick on my lips. Here’s another look in natural light: Outside of my Nars blush, everything can be purchased at your local drugstore or mass retailer. As long as you prime and set, it should last all day.
