I love a style chameleon. Someone that has the ability to experiment with their look daily, but still maintain a common thread throughout so that no matter what they wear, it remains authentic to their true self. When I met Talia P, a Communications Major at Christian Brothers, I absolutely loved her personal style.
She’s one of the few that can thrift and find amazing pieces that look current, but even then, she’ll flip it and have it tailored to something completely even better. The day we shot this we went thrifting and I can’t wait to see what she does with a floral frock. Here’s her city style.
Outfit One: White Button Down with Flower Stitching: Salvation Army / Black Vintage Short (Were a pair of Leather pants I thrifted and cut / White and Pink Snakeskin Jordan 11s / Silver Chanel Bag / Custom Grill by Alex Gubanov Jewelry / Gold Plated Bracelets from American Apparel / Pure Zen Lipstick by MAC.
Describe your style in 5 words: Resourceful, Eclectic, Creative, Classic, Vintage 3 places you like to shop: Thrift Stores, American Apparel, and Anywhere that sells nice shoes.
Outfit Two: White and Floral Two Piece: Luxe Boutique in Memphis / Booties: Sam Edelman purchased at Century 21 in NYC for $16.00 / Flat Out Fabulous Lipstick by MAC.
Style icons: Lisa Bonet, Karruche Tran, and My Grandma (Miss Wise)
What’s your style philosophy: Do what makes YOU happy. Avoid the saying, “I don’t know if I can pull that off.” I work in retail and I hear that a million times a day. It can instantly place boundaries on individuals. I personally try everything. Usually within seconds of seeing a vintage item I’m thinking of how I can reconstruct it and make it modern in my head. My senior year of high school my Grandma Wise literally banned me from her closet LOL
What’s always in your makeup bag: MAC Lipstick, BB Cream, and L’Oreal Million Lashes Mascara.
Outfit Three: Reebok Philly Hockey Jersey / Vintage Acid Wash Blue Jeans / Black Pointy Leather Boots / Vintage Inspired Gold Plated Sunglasses from Urban Outfitters / Lady Danger lipstick by MAC.
