A few months ago, my friend Andrea informed me that she was going to be interviewed by Grace Magazine, a premiere Mid-South publication for WOC. Founded in 1997, the issue would be celebrating their relaunch, and she needed to get some updated imagery to go along with the feature; she also wanted to showcase a new piece she’d designed.
The issue finally dropped last week and I’m so excited to share!
Andrea and I work very well together. Whenever we’re planning a shoot, we talk about what her look will be, discuss makeup (it’s been fun to flex those muscles and use all of this product, lol), and figure out the location and best time of day to shoot. We both love natural light and being out in the elements, so we went went downtown to a park and set up shop with her daughter Amira. Easy and fun, here are a few more outtakes from the shoot that day.
It’s always a pleasure to work with friends, and I’m glad I was able to be a part of this chapter in her journey.
Grace Magazine’s new issue looks amazing. I love the sleeker layout, and they also have a fantastic editorial fashion spread by Andrea Everett, a budding fashion stylist that also manages at American Apparel. Be sure to pick up your copy!
