COVERGIRL recently launched Ready, Set Gorgeous, a new collection of oil free foundations, concealers, and powders with a build in powder system that prevents shine and mattifies skin by pulling oil away from the skin instead of trapping it under your makeup. I’ve been testing it for a few weeks and I absolutely love it! Although the color range isn’t vast (the foundation comes in 12 shades, concealer 5, powder 6), I was able to find a match in the foundation (classic tan) and matching concealer. I’ve found powders that work so I didn’t want to rock the boat and skipped it. The foundation formula is lightweight with medium to full coverage, but it doesn’t set like a mask. Once it sets, it has a natural finish so skin looks flawless but real. The concealer is just ok for under-eye (you need more coverage if you have really dark circles), but it’s even better for spot concealing or a highlight. The biggest plus for me is that it’s relatively long lasting. Typically my foundation starts to fade after hour 4 (even with primer and setting spray), but this one actually lasted all day, which is a huge coup considering I have combination skin. The collection ranges from $6.99-$8.99 depending on the store (go to Ulta and use a coupon like I did!), so if you need to mix and match you can. I initially purchased the concealer for this shade but winded up getting the darker one as well to mix it with so that my undereye wouldn’t have an ashy cast. TIP: Only use 1-2 pumps max and wait about 3 minutes after application before adding concealer. The foundation has a slight color adjusting effect, so you may not need as much concealer as you think.
