Last week I had the pleasure of attending Marmi’s Grand Opening event in Saddle Creek. If you’re unfamiliar with Marmi Shoes, they’re an upscale women’s shoe store that specializes not only in comfort, but they also offer a wide variety of sizing (4-13, narrow, medium, wide). A company with a rich history (their stores first opened in 1986, but their parent company, Wolff Shoe, is a 4th generation, family owned and operated business that’s been around since 1918), they have a unique, European influence and have styles available for just about everyone.
With a portion of proceeds benefiting St. Jude that night, people came to SHOP. Seriously. There were shoes flying everywhere! Their new Fall Collection is in store, so it was the perfect time to shop for boots + cute flats. They also carry accessories, and I saw quite a few that I was instantly obsessed with. During the event we also sipped champagne and noshed on bites from Hog & Hominy-there’s seriously no better way to shop!
Celebrity Stylist + Personality George Brescia was there signing copies of his new book CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES CHANGE YOUR LIFE (stay tuned for a review!), and also offered style advice for attendees.
He was such a doll, and watching him interact with the customers and help them pick out shoes as they shopped was a treat. He also styled local lifestyle expert JJ Keras for the event, and I LOVED the mix of textures in her outfit!
Fellow fashion bloggers Andrea Fenise and Megan (Pretty in Pink Megan) came to enjoy the festivities as well. It’s always cool when I get to meet other bloggers here (especially when they have great style).
Couldn’t leave out a little City Style:
Her blouse + lace bomber was SO cute. Classics with a twist are my fave!
The current owners, Gary + Sherry, came in town for the celebration and were so friendly and warm to everyone. Andrea and I got to talk to Gary a bit about the company’s history and how it has evolved over the years, which was so inspiring to 2 women building their own companies from the ground up.
All in all I had a wonderful time that evening. I saw quite a few things I want (if you follow me on IG, I posted some leopard print kicks that are SO dope-haven’t been able to stop thinking about them), and I can’t wait to see their other collections.
If you live in or near Memphis, visit the Saddle Creek location (located near Vera Bradley + Madewell). Visit www.shop.marmishoes.com/ to learn more about the brand and to find a location near you. Follow them on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to stay up to date with new releases and see a ton of BTS shots!
