Prepping Your Wardrobe for Fall | Part 3-The Shopping List | KP FUSION
You’ve cleared out your closet and have a good wardrobe foundation, so the fun part (shopping!) can begin. Editing down your wardrobe to only those pieces that you truly love and feel fabulous in will make this process so much easier, and so much more productive. You’ve figured out your style, so you can now shop with more purpose. Here are a few items I want to add to my closet for Fall: A peep-toe ankle bootie in a nude tone can be worn with trousers, denim, skirts, and dresses, Pairs well with both brights and neutrals. A cream silk blouse in a classic shape with delicate details works under a suit, but can also dress up distressed denim. Classic black pants: wear them to work, to dinner, and even on weekends with a striped tee and tennis shoes. Structured, and large enough to carry all of my junk to work but still stylish enough to take with you when headed out for drinks. You can never have too many blazers. Instead of buying another black blazer, try one in a warm hue to switch things up a bit. A pretty statement piece that won’t overpower your neckline. Wear with neutrals, jewel tones, patterns, and more. Another classic, a long-sleeved striped tee is the ultimate layering piece. If you typically wear a lot of neutrals, a floral scarf will help you ease more color and patterns into your wardrobe. Boyfriend denim is the fit of the season-try one that’s slim, not baggy, and slightly distressed for a more hi/lo effect. You already have a LBD. A LPD (little purple dress) is so versatile-great for work and play with just a quick switch in accessories. Boucle is a Fall fabric, but instead of gray try navy + pair with marigold, burnt orange, or a blush tone for a more modern look this season. A new pair of black flats are a must every Fall. The D’Orsay style gives off a Parisian feel. While you may still have moments where you may make a spontaneous purchase, having a list of must-haves for the season will cause you to unconsciously edit your shopping baskets; because you’re building a wardrobe of purposeful pieces, it will be so much easier to maximize your wardrobe. All of the pieces that I’ve listed above actually work together, and will integrate easily into what I already have. That means getting ready will be so much easier, which is everyone’s goal, no?
