Although last Saturday was a bit warmer than expected, it really was a perfect day for a portrait session in Overton Park. Joya is a woman of many hats (literally), so we had a little fun playing around with them in the shade. Joya has such an infectious personality and is a natural in front of the camera, so our session was really laid-back; we talked about our day, and I had her tell me something funny that she recently heard (easy trick to make someone smile + laugh on cue). When you’re able to get someone to feel comfortable with you, it becomes so much easier to get out what you need from the session. The feature image is my favorite (because it has an editorial feel to it), but we were both really happy with them all.
