Moving into 2015, I plan to do many more editorials and trend reports using original photography on the blog, so periodically I will be meeting with models for test shoots. I met with Kira on a chilly Saturday in early November to snap a few quick photos and see how she moved in front of the camera.
We met in Cooper-Young at my favorite coffee shop, Java Cabana. On the street that runs down the side of their building, there is a slate gray wall and a painted brick wall, so I knew that it be perfect for a clean, simple backdrop for the photos. It was a little windy as well, so instead of trying to fight the elements, we just let the breeze do what it wanted. I think it adds a little movement and personality to photos.
I got a few pretty good shots out of it, but the closeup above is by far my favorite. I loved her profile, and how intense her eyes are. When I edited it, I tried it out in black + white as well.
I think it changes the mood of it a bit. What do you think?
