Concealer is seldom an immediate hit or miss for me. Typically I have to experiment with it for a few weeks to determine if I like the formula, and/or how it will work (spot treatment, undereye, etc). Last week I picked up the new Maybelline® Face Studio Master Conceal ($8.99) and I LOVE it. This is hands-down the best concealer I have ever used. I’ve literally used it every day since purchasing. It is a full coverage, concentrated formula, so a little goes a long way. Funnily enough, it’s not heavy; the consistency is a little bit thicker, but it’s not heavy or cakey, and it leaves the type of luminosity under the eye that you get from the thinner highlighting liquids.
It comes in 5 shades, and while the range isn’t extensive, the yellow undertones makes it perfect for olive and tanned skin. I’ve seen some reviews about it not being good for darker skin and I will say this- the coloring is a little off in the packaging, so I would not use this concealer for spot treatment and/or to match my skin. I would use this for highlighting only. It blends seamlessly, and if your undertones are warmer, this will allow you to highlight under your eyes w/o having an ashy tone (I’m wearing it in the new photo on my About Me page). If you use an eye cream and set w/a dusting of powder, it won’t budge for at least 6 hours. My eyelids are oily but my undereye area is dry and eats up makeup, but this actually lasts me throughout the day.
Tip: Squeeze out a pea-size amount and apply under eye with a small brush, but use a damp beauty blender to bend it out and remove any lines/streaks.
