Pretty Blooms from Pop-Up Flower Shop with Ava Loren Design | KP FUSION
Last Saturday my store was filled with the intoxicating fragrance of flesh flowers when Ava Loren Design held a Mother’s Day Pop-Up Flower Shop. Principle designer Kamesha Hervey Richard set up shop so that gift givers (and general flower enthusiasts) could pick up a fresh bouquet that day while they shopped new arrivals. In between customers (and while I smashed my face into the flower buckets, lol), Kamesha shared some of her horticultural knowledge with us. I basically have a black thumb when it comes to flowers, so it was great to get pointers on what blooms to pick when (if you haven’t noticed on IG it’s peony season), and how to preserve them. Seeing customers interact with Kamesha while they shopped was a lot of fun; in-store events like this allow you to have conversations with your shoppers beyond the typical “what are you shopping for today?” default and connect with people/potential clients on a deeper level. I met the most fascinating woman that had relocated from the city to a small farm just outside of Nashville. Her and her husband are new to farming, but she told me all about it’s growth (pear, apple and cherry trees, a few chickens w/a horse on the way), and I was able to help her find a few pieces to help fit her new lifestyle. All because she stopped by to check out the flowers in the window. :) Do you keep fresh flowers in your home? What are your faves?
