Tag, You're It! (Blogger Interview) | KP FUSION
I joined a few blogging groups on Facebook recently + decided to participate in a fun blog interview tag. The questions are simple, gives a little insight into the person behind the blog, and can hopefully help generate some traffic to our sites. How did you get into blogging? I first started blogging in the Myspace era about dating + relationships, but KP Fusion began years after that as a creative outlet. I was working in healthcare but wasn’t very happy, so after I had a conversation with a friend who thought I should blog about fashion, I started doing research to help me find “my” voice/perspective. A fellow Twitter friend randomly recommended Cupcakes & Cashmere to me, and after seeing her write about fashion + life in a fun, conversational tone, I saw that I didn’t have to force anything and could just be myself. A few weeks after that, I launched it, and that was almost 5 years ago! What advice would you give to a blogger just starting out? Plan, plan, PLAN your content. You will inevitably have writer’s block (seriously, it cannot be avoided), but if you plan out your content, you can still have posts scheduled to go up so that no one will be the wiser. Consistently posting, whether it’s 2-3 times a week or once a month is the #1 thing I noticed all successful bloggers do. Your content still needs to be good, obviously, but take the time to have brainstorming sessions and batch write your posts will save you time in front of the computer and help prevent blogger burnout. What would be your dream campaign? My dream campaign would be travel-related. I’d love to collaborate with a brand and do a sort of city guide campaign focused on places to go, things to see, and yummy food to eat. Do you have a plan for your blog? initially my focus was only on fashion + beauty, but it’s been a lot more lifestyle focused in the sense that I write about different shops, creatives, and things of that nature. I’ve started to incorporate more local coolness into it as well, so I’m growing that angle as time permits. What do you think about rankings? Everyone wants to be a top blogger, but I no longer feel that that definition has to be as narrow as its been in the past. There’s room for everyone, sp when you create compelling content, it may take a little more time to grow your audience, but you can still build a readership that will allow amazing opportunities to come your way. Think about it, it’s YOUR platform, so you get to define your own rules! I’ve tagged the following: Carissa | Latte Cuddles Colleen | Coocoo for Coco Kimberly | Blogs for Days Ari | That’s So Chic Elizabeth | A Dose of Healthy Distraction Kelly | Sparkle and Shoes Courtney | Road Darling Amanda | The Happy Arkansan Wendie | Pantry Doctor Andrea | By Andrea Fenise Audrey | Lulu Linden Trend to Try: Fringe Accents Closet Staple | Graphic Tees
