I’ve been a busy little bee the last week. Balancing a full-time job with blogging, photography sessions, + other opportunities that have come my way (more info on that soon!) is A LOT, so finding the time to actually work on my blog content has been hard! I have a really neat interiors post coming up next week, along with a new Good Eats review, but here are a few things I’m loving right now:
So I inadvertently went on a health kick a few weeks ago and have found myself craving organic Greek yogurt, mixed berries, and this kickass granola that I found at Kroger. It’s Apple Chia Crumble by Love Crunch and it’s so friggin good! It’s crunchy but not hard, w/a brown sugar sweetness so it tastes absolutely yummy with vanilla yogurt. It’s been extremely hot here, so I think that’s why I haven’t been wanting any heavy foods, but I’m not complaining; its forced me to make healthier choices on the days I haven’t cooked and helped tame my sweet tooth so I’m just gonna go with it, lol.
I rekindled my love affair with Revlon’s ColorStay Foundation. I finally found my match again (Toast for oily/combination skin) + combined w/my favorite mattifying primer from Rimmel, my makeup has been lasting all day long! Like, I’m talking 7-9 hours in humidity w/just a little shine after hour 6. I apply it with a wet beauty sponge (I like Real Techniques’) and doing it this way allows me to build up the coverage w/o it being cakey. I also have a thing for matte creme lippies. I mixed one from NYX + Ruby Kisses for the color above, and it stays put. I’m stocking up on these for Fall bc the opaque colors are beautiful, and if you feel like your lips are too dry, you can just add lip balm on top after you’ve gotten the color that you want.
I’ve been prepping for my blogging workshop that’s this upcoming Sunday at Stock + Belle. This one is going to be a little different from the others I’ve had in the past because a big chunk is going to be devoted to blog + social media photography. They have these huge windows that allow a ton of natural light to come through, so my attendees will be able learn tips about taking better photos regardless of the type of camera that they have, and we’ll also have props for everyone to create some images with. I went to Michael’s the other day + found some fun little items to play with, and I’m going to get some more stuff this Saturday!
Finally getting to another book on my Summer Reading List. For some reason I wanted to read this book after I finished Clever Girl, but I had a hard time locating it (and I didn’t want to order it. Weird, I know). I FINALLY found it at a different Target than the one I frequent so now I can dig into it. After the workshop I’m going to have to slow down a little so I can knock off some more books on this list. We only have a few weeks of Summer left!
What have you been up to this week?
