Technically, September isn’t part of the holiday season, but for most fashion lovers, it’s viewed as the most wonderful time of the year: the start of NYFW. In honor of this grand “holiday”, last Tuesday designer Tara Skelley (Dilettante Collection) hosted a fun fashion mixer for photographers, stylists, and other creatives to mingle together to talk about their love of all things Anna Wintour, and then watch a screening of The September Issue.
Almost everyone that attended had already seen the movie, but it was a chance for us to hang out in Studio688’s dreamy production studio (they pulled together vintage couches and chairs to chill on and there were pretty lights strung all around the room so that we were all ensconced in this ethereal glow) and talk shop. I talked with a few photographers and makeup artists that I hadn’t seen since Memphis Fashion Week, and I finally met a few of my IG/FB friends in the flesh, which was pretty cool!
Also, Tara created this dope “gallery wall” of Anna sketches that we ALL wanted to take home, lol.
Seriously,how cool are these?
I really hope that she continues to host these periodically because not only was it a super easy way to bring together creatives to potentially make connections for future collabs, but most importantly, they’re FUN. Studio688 was the perfect venue for it!
How did you celebrate the start of NYFW?
