[…] trying to find an outfit to wear for my segment on Local Memphis Live a few weeks ago, I became exasperated as I was trying on clothes because nothing was working like I […]
So I’m still on a bit of a cloud this morning-last Friday I did a fashion + beauty segment on ABC affiliate Local Memphis Live! This was my first time on camera and I was soooo nervous but I had fun.
Here’s the segment.
I have to work on not saying “um” so many times, but overall I think I did ok! Ron told me before we started that he liked my outfit (whut! whut!) and they told me I really knew my stuff *poses* Hopefully, this is just the beginning of opportunities like this.
Also, we ran out of time so I didn’t get to talk about the haircare products from Design Essentials so I have a little info below; I’m also including links to the other products. I was sent the beauty products to review beforehand, and for the fashion component, I decided to focus on trends that would be easy for anyone to implement into their wardrobe no matter their style, size, or budget. Everything is affordable, and while on trend for Fall 2015, they all still have classic elements to them so that they can be worn for years to come.
Design Essentials Natural Coconut + Monoi Line
A 5 product line that’s designed to deliver intense hydration to intastantly transform dull, dry, thirsty hair into soft, shiny, and revitalized hair. Includes: Deep Moisture Milk Creme, Coconut Water Curl Refresher, Deep Moisture Milk Souffle, Deep Moisture Oil Treatment, + Intense Shine Oil Mist. I used the Deep Moisture Milk Souffle and Deep Moisture Oil Treatment when I washed my hair and I loved that it cut down frizz and made my hair super soft, especially when I flat-ironed it. I then sprayed the Intense Shine Oil Mist over it once I was done just for a little more shine. I have natural hair (meaning, no relaxer or other chemicals), so when it’s wet it’s kinky-curly, and the other products will work better for it when it’s in that state. All products retail for under $14 and can be found at Target, Walmart, Sally’s Beauty Supply + Walgreens.

I just watched the segment and you did GREAT!! Ron was right, it just flowed out of you!!! I love the statement you made about fringe; not looking like you are in a western. Ha! That’s the main reason I have not worn it. I know now to ease into to it.
