It’s no secret that I HATE my pores, and while you can’t do anything to make them go away or shrink, you can try products that will help reduce their appearance. I’ve been testing out StriVectin’s Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner for the last few months under my makeup and I like the results.
A lightweight lotion that tightens and reduces the visible size of pores, it has a mattifying effect that can help minimize oil and shine without drying out the skin.
From the website:
Patented NIA-114™ technology nourishes the moisture barrier to provide visible age fighting efficacy as it limits the sensitivity common to Retinol use. The powerfully effective blend purifies and refines both skin tone and texture, while delivering superior age fighting benefits.
I have combination/oily skin so I still include a mattifying primer to make sure I don’t turn into an oil slick, but if your skin is normal, you can wear this alone. As I do with primers, I suggest letting it sit on your face at least 3 minutes before applying your foundation for optimum results. It “fills in” your pores so that you have less appearance of texture, but your skin won’t look like a mask. It’s intended to be the last step in your skincare routine, so I suggest using a lotion (especially if you have dry skin) before applying this. Also, it can be used twice a day; it’s expensive ($99) but 1 pump is more than enough for a full face application so do what you will.
You can purchase it via their site, here, Ulta, or Amazon.
Have you tried any of Strivectin’s products before? What were your results?
Disclosure: I received a press sample of StriVectin, but all opinions are honest and my own.
