One of my favorite Fall fashion combos is peasant dresses + booties. The lightweight, floaty dresses are feminine + flirty, with just a touch of boho chicness depending on the pattern. They’re easy carryovers from Summer (simply layer with a duster cardigan, suede jacket, or chunky sweater), and when paired with ankle or midi-length boots, it’s a fresher take on a classic trend.
Perusing around on Shopbop’s site, I saw quite a few dresses that I need, um, NOW:
Mockneck Dress, $72 | Becky Dress, $178 | Paisley Off Shoulder Dress, $77
The cuts are flattering on almost every body type. I tend to stick with solid color dresses (more ways to wear it), but every now and again I’ll come across patterns that I love. Flat knee boots would work with many of these as well, though you might venture into Penny Lane territory depending on hair and makeup. You can be inspired, but you never want to look costume-y.
Woven Dress, $80 | Mayella Dress, $80 | Paxton Shirtdress, $128
The Kendyll Open Toe Booties by Splendid ($178) might be the most perfect shoe; it comes in 3 colors (eek!)
