With temps reaching record highs this week in Memphis, it feels like Fall and Winter may never actually reach us. I’ve been ready to break out all of my jackets and accessories since August (overzealous, I know) but truth be told, it won’t make sense to wear them until the middle of the month.
But don’t get it twisted-Memphis is known for it’s very fickle weather (it once snowed on my apt steps but the sun was shining and the streets were as dry as a desert once I made it to work a few miles away), and temps can unexpectedly drop from these high 80s to the low 30s and stay there through the new year, which means you do have to stock up on cold weather essentials. When Winter finally arrives, YOU WILL KNOW.
One goal of mine is to start investing in higher quality outerwear, jackets and accessories. While we technically don’t have a full, proper Winters like say, New York, it DOES get really cold here at times and light layers don’t always cut it. Investing in a luxe leather or wool coat in a classic silhouette would keep me stylish without worrying about it only being good for one season. American label Andrew Marc is known for their leather, fur, down, and wool outerwear, and what I like most about the brand is that the pieces look very modern without being too trendy. They give off a metropolitan vibe (brand HQ is in NYC and that’s reflective in the style), so even though I’m not hopping in and out of cabs all day, I don’t have to settle for boring outerwear, either.
Perusing their new arrivals, I’ve made a little wishlist that I’m going to email to fam + friends since the Holidays are almost here *fingers-crossed Santa hooks me up*:
While you may have to do a little saving for most of the coats, many are at an affordable price-point, especially for a designer investment piece. Once you calculate the CPW (cost per wear), it makes the investment worth it. To see the full line (they also carry men’s and boots + shoes) click here.
this post is sponsored, but opinions are totally my own.

These are great. The suede vest with the fur is so chic!
