[…] I went by Sugar Plum Consignments, in addition to the pieces I got and wore on my birthday, I also picked out this suede shawl with fringe detail ($60) + a pair of statement earrings […]
Hey peeps! Last Thursday was my birthday and I had a chill but fun-filled day with family and friends. My morning was relatively quiet (I spent it reflecting on the year that’s passed and what I hope to improve on going into the new year), and then I met up with my bestie for a manicure and lunch. After catching up with one of my brothers and my dad (mom was at work), I did a little shopping and then met up with a few friends for cocktails. I had to work the next day so I couldn’t party too hard, but I had fun and received some hilarious birthday wishes so it was a good day indeed. #blessed
It’s funny, as I’ve moved into my 30s, gone are the days when I wanted to dress super fancy and like a “princess” on my birthday. I’m so much more chill now, and I was going with the flow all day so I wanted to wear an outfit that reflected that and would work pretty much anywhere I went.

The sweet team at Sugar Plum Consignments recently invited me to come out to play dress up and gifted me with this knitted vest with fur collar, snake skin shoes, and layering necklace. I also got 2 other pieces (coming in another post); I was cute and comfy on my day and loved it!
I loved that the vest wasn’t bulky so I didn’t look like a cave woman, and because the heels were lower, I still had some lift and could do a little strut, but I didn’t need to sit down every five minutes, lol. Best part about it? The pieces were SO affordable! Shoes were $30, vest was $12.99 + necklace was $8.99. An easy way to update your fit without breaking the bank, no?
