I never thought in a million years that I would become a hat person. I’ve searched for years, but I have thick hair and a big head, so it’s been hard to find one that didn’t make me look like a weird puppet, lol.
The quest for the perfect hat began in the early 2000s. I was obsessed with J.Lo and thought she looked fabulous in a big brim floppy hat. I found one that was close, but because of it’s weight (it was woven straw), I could only wear it during the Summer. I then began looking at Fedoras, but could never find a basic one (light tan with a black strip) that fit properly. So essentially, I gave up on it until we got in a ton of hats last Fall at Crazy Beautiful. I tried a few on, and finally found a black, wide brim fedora that fit (and looked) great. I wear it ALL the time now, and around Christmas, I found another one at Target!
Sidenote: I’m obsessed with that scarf. I found it at H&M for $5 and have to force myself from grabbing it or I’d wear it every day, lol. Anyhoo…) The wide brim fedora style works well for me. Even though my hair is short, it still allows for balance with my face and hair. As we ease into Spring, I’m planning to add some fun colors to my collection. Even on days when I only have on a tee and jeans, if I throw on a hat and sometimes a scarf, I look much more pulled together.
I found some cute ones around the web:
