Last month, Wolfchase Galleria celebrated their 20th anniversary and I had the pleasure of being the host for the afternoon. The event featured live music, a karaoke contest, fashion shows and more.
The largest indoor retail destination in Memphis, Wolfchase Galleria helped turn Germantown into a thriving retail area. I remember riding out to Germantown Parkway as a teenager while it was under development, and it’s been pretty cool to watch the area grow over the years. It was THE mall to go to whenever you were looking for something fresh and new for your wardrobe. It’s grown to have over 126 retailers and restaurants, including The Cheesecake Factory, the most recent addition.
At the beginning of the event, we had a presentation from Dillard’s; featuring pieces from Michael Kors, Calvin Klein and Chelsea + Violet. Denim, velour + suede jackets, and rompers are all hot trends for Spring.
The second presentation was from Gap, with some of the cutest little models for Gap Kids. All American plaid, denim, and other wardrobe staples were shown.
In addition to the other festivities, we also played mall trivia throughout the afternoon. Every 20 minutes we gave away $20 Simon Mall gift cards, and there were also ambassadors passing out little treat bags of Hershey kisses throughout the Mall. Kevin Cerrito (Cerrito Live) also hosted an official contest (Trivia is BIG here) after the karaoke contest.
With one of the trivia winners (Doug) and Kevin Cerrito.
JUST2GUYZ performed and they’re always a treat to listen to. They played both original music and some fun 90’s covers (I’m obsessed with their version of TLC’s “Waterfalls”).
The Memphis Police Dept also came out to talk with patrons about Mall safety, neighborhood watch, and even recruitment.
Wolfchase is a family friendly mall, so it was cool to see all of the kids hanging out with their parents, singing along with music and even playing games. All in all it was a fun event and I always have a blast working with them.
