I try to pack up my denim and pants once it’s regularly in the 80s, but to do that, I have to find dresses that will help me get through the season. No matter where I have to go, I can always just throw on a dress and cute accessories to look polished and put together, and there are a few styles that I always look out for.
If you’re on the hunt for what to wear once it’s hot as hades outside, here’s a quick list of frocks that’ll get your through Spring + Summer:
Maxi Dress
Even if you’re a shorty like me, you can still rock a maxi dress. They’re available in so many different colors, patterns, and fabrications, and you can keep them in rotation all season long. Last summer I LIVED in a black cotton maxi with side slits, so I personally know how versatile they are.
LBD (or LWD)
A little black or white dress that’s extremely versatile will be that piece that you can wear almost every week, tbh. If you get it in a shift style (with or without sleeves), you can easily make it look like a different piece with accessories, jackets, and even sweaters (an easy trick is to layer it over the dress and belt it).
Colorful Dress
Spring = color, so finding a bright, bold frock to add a little pop into your wardrobe is a must. Color doesn’t have to mean pink, either. Orange, Yellow, and Cobalt Blue are always great choices, but honestly, just find one that compliments your skintone the best and rock it out.
Denim Dress
Skip the leggings and workout gear and find a denim dress to run your errands in on the weekends. Even if you pair it with a basic pair of flipflops, you’ll still look more polished when you’re running around.
Something Expected
The game-changing, knock ‘em out dress that makes you feel like a whole new woman. It can be something super sexy, or even just a simple jersey dress that keeps you completely covered but you still feel banging, but make sure it it’s a go-to that you can grab when you need to feel extra special.
