I have oily/combination skin, so using a setting powder with my makeup is a must. For the past 2 months I’ve been using the L.A. Girl PRO High-Definition Setting Powder ($5.99) and it may be my holy grail.
A “luxe” setting powder, the sheer formula mattifies skin while providing a natural finish. It’s finely milled and designed to help makeup last longer; it comes with a little puff but you can use a beauty sponge or brush to set your makeup as well. I picked up the banana shade (it also comes in translucent), and I like that you can pile it on without it making your skin look dry. I got it primarily for setting my under-eye concealer, but I apply excess all over my face to keep the rest of my makeup in place.
Like all loose powders it can get messy, so keep the taped closer it comes with to prevent powder from spilling everywhere. I do get some natural oil break-through after about 6 hours, but if I use my mattifying primer as well, I can get a full day of almost flawless wear with a minor touch-up. I’ve read that it may have some flashback, but I never use flash with photos so that’s a non-issue for me.
I also use their HD Pro-Concealer (it’s a holy grail and what I’ve gone back to numerous times over the last 2+ years) and it works so well together- I have no creasing. I’m already on my second tub!
