Living Room Decor Finds Under $200

When you start the redecorating process, EVERYTHING is inspiration. You live on Pinterest, and if you’re lucky enough to follow some cool interior design IG accounts, you’re always saving photos to your collections as well. The problem for most people, however, is that it becomes inspiration overload and defining exactly what they want becomes hard and they get stuck. The thing to remember is this: just like your wardrobe, your decor aesthetic can run the gamut (and constantly change), but if you pick out a few core pieces that can fit into almost any style, it’ll make shopping a little easier when you want to switch it up.

I’ll admit that I’ve been influenced by Pinterest, lol, so now that I’m redecorating my living room, there are certain things that I want. I don’t want to live in an all white or minimalist home (although it would probably make for beautiful pictures all year round), but there are a few elements that I’d like to add now that I’ve finally gotten a new couch that I like. Cali/Boho is still the main design style that I lean towards, but the palette is simpler (greys, whites, soft pastels), and I’m playing a little more with texture (faux fur pillows, throws and my rug) because I like the luxe feel that it lends to more modern/glam interior trends. I’m planning to add in more greenery as well, but I don’t want it to look like a jungle bungalow. I think it’s cool, but because I take some pictures at home, the background shots would be way too busy. Another time/apartment.

It’s a slowish process due to my schedule, but I have been finding decor things that I like (if you follow me on IG you saw that I recently found some luxe-looking faux fur throw pillows at Walmart of all places) and it’s been fun hunting for cute stuff. I’m on a budget, but that doesn’t mean that my home can’t look nice, you know?
