Last night I attended The Memphis Flyer’s Best of Memphis Party and had so much fun with some of my coworkers! CrazyBeautiful, one of the boutiques I shoot with, won for Best Women’s Boutique, so some of us went to celebrate at the event (held at Graceland’s Event area).
We nibbled on bites from Mulan Asian Bistro, Memphis Pizza Cafe and Muddy’s Bake Shop, and then Reagan and I walked around taking pictures and being silly.
I finally got a chance to wear this cute, mock-neck floral shift dress that I picked up this Summer from Charming Charlie. It gave me a late 80s/early 90s vibe, so my look for the night was an ode to 80s Molly Ringwald (the wavy curls + florals) meets Heathers wanna be goth 90s girl (double cross statement earrings, dark lips, edgier booties).
I love the way that the dress is cut because it gives you the illusion of having a smaller waist (I wish!), but it’s not tight at all. I’m on the hunt for a long duster cardigan in black so that I can wear it with flat desert boots, a hat, and a scarf.
I grew up less than 5 minutes away from Graceland but have never been (I know, I know), but I actually like Elvis’ music so I think it’s time that I make a trip. There were a ton of people there so we couldn’t take a lot of pictures; the area that we were in had his vehicle collection on display and he owned some pretty cool rides when he was alive. I’m adding a full visit to my Fall “to-do” list on a lazy Saturday or Sunday.
