Two beauty products that I keep in my makeup bag year round is highlighter and a bright, bold lip-color. We typically swap out certain products when the temps begin to cool, but I’ve never been one to follow strict beauty rules. I finally got my hands on Maybelline’s Face Studio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter and their Super Stay Matte Ink Lip Color in Heroine and I will be wearing them all season long.
The Chrome Highlighter is super popular (I had to go to multiple stores over a period of time to get it), and while it can be used to highlight your cheekbones to the gawds, I actually like it because the sheen looks “fluid”, so if you’re the type that just wants to add a little dewiness to your matte foundation so that your skin still looks fresh, it’s perfect for that.
I got into liquid lipsticks last year, but the matte ink lip color was new territory. Once this product is on, it’s ON, so make sure that your lips are exfoliated and moisturized before applying. I became obsessed with this shade after seeing it on a few bloggers, and think that I’ll wear it in place of a deep red when I’m doing a monochromatic black or grey look.
I don’t want to look like I’m trying to hold on to Summer so I doubt that I’ll wear these two products together during the Fall. They’re great, affordable products to use if you want to try some of the editorial looks that we see in magazines but want something a little more wearable for “real life”. Just remember to keep brows groomed and add mascara!
