I’ve been looking for the perfect faux fur vest for YEARS and I finally found it at Banana Republic Factory. When they had their styling event a few weeks back, I went down to find my outfit to wear the day of the event and I immediately bee-lined for the vest.
I’d tried a few vests on at Target before but the colors/fabrication weren’t quite what I wanted (although, I may go back to get the mint one that they had). I had to stay focused and find one that was neutral enough to wear with just about anything, and also, I wanted one that wasn’t too bulky and made me look like a cave woman, lol.
When I tried this one on, I liked the fit and the length; I can wear longer cardigans and jackets, but I knew I wanted a faux fur vest that would stop right at my hips. When I went to the Vesta Home Show Home preview with California Closets (see here), I wasn’t sure if we were going to do a lot of walking and/or see more than one house, so I wore it with a pair of super distressed denim from Old Navy (these have the perfect amount of stretch and are a little edgier than what I go for), a black sweater from Banana Republic (I wore the fuchsia version here) and boots from Target so that I could be cute and comfy.
I’ve since worn this with other denim, over stripes and button down shirts and am planning to pair it with a dress as well. I love pieces like this because they help you instantly switch up your look with very little effort. It’s soft and doesn’t shed, so I’ll be able to keep this for a few seasons.
