So I’m that person that buys something, holds it in my closet forever, and THEN can’t stop wearing it once I start. I bought this pair of flare denim over a year ago but kept them in my dresser because I wanted to get them hemmed. One day I said eff it, had them cut and now….it’s so hard for me to go back to my skinnies, lol.
I absolutely love the way that they fit. They’re mid-rise (slightly higher, actually), make my butt look good, and the rinse is that perfect shade of light blue. I’ve worn them with tees, button downs, and my faux fur vest (straight Penny Lane vibes for real that day), but pairing them with this sheer patterned blouse that I got from Anthropologie has probably been my favorite look.
The ruffle tiered detail makes this top feel so feminine, but I was able to keep it grounded and more like “me” with my white ankle booties. The flare cut is an ode to the 70s but the blouse and accessories keeps it modern.
The denim is from Old Navy (there aren’t a lot of sizes remaining on line but you might be able to still find them instore), and the booties are from Forever21. Trendy pieces, yes, but I can mix them with so many things to help keep them from feeling dated. This Spring, the trend for flared denim is going to be both a little more exaggerated and slightly cropped, but I will forever be a fan of this traditional cut. It’s one that will never go out of style.
